We need cleaner air!

We have marked the second week of February 2022 as our climate action week here in St.Fiachra’s J.N.S. This week coincides with Valentine’s Day as we will be having a “Love 30” campaign in our school. We need the cars around the school zone to slow down to 30 km per hour to help keep us all safe. We are also making the children aware of “No Idling”. When we.

We mapped our journeys!

We looked at maps of our local area and had a big discussion about how we come to school. Each of us traced the roads we come through every day on our own special map. Most people park and ride to our school and that is super! A lot more of us are scooting and cycling since we began working on our Travel flag.

Our Travel Flag work

It is super to see many more bicycles and scooters coming into the school grounds. We have a huge amount of people moving together at 8:40am and 2:25 and 2:30. We would like to make this as safe as possible for the good of all our community. Every class has been visited and asked to hop off their scooter or bike and walk in from the church onwards. The green.
