We celebrated World Book Day today in St. Fiachra’s Junior School.
The children looked fantastic dressed up as some of their favourite story book characters.
Fairy Sarah paid a visit to our school to perform some fairy magic and read a story to the Junior Infants
Even some of the teachers joined in the fun !
Owing to school closure we were unable to celebrate World Book Day on Thursday 1st March.
To celebrate World Book Day we are inviting the children to dress up as a character from their favourite book on Thursday 8th March if they wish to do so.

This week was
in St. Fiachra’s.
Today we celebrated friendships at assemblies in the hall. We sang songs, and some children performed drama sketches about what respect and kindness means to us.
The school was also decorated beautifully with lots of friendship trees.
Sleeping Beauty paid visit to our school this week with a special show for Junior Infants.
Room 9 have been looking after all the birds in our school garden by creating these beautiful bird feeders.

After reading a chapter from his book ‘Rover Saves Christmas‘ Roddy Doyle accompanied by Richard Burton spent time with the children in second class chatting about their recent visit to Fighting Words where the children had created their own books.
Santa Dash 2017
We had lots of fun on our Santa Dash this year.
Book Fair 2016
St Fiachra’s Junior school are hosting their Biennial Book Fair in the Parish Centre from Tuesday 15th November to Friday 18th November 11.30 to 3pm. All profits will be returned to the school in the form of books for each class library. All welcome.
Perfect Attendance 2015/2016
On Wednesday 29 June 36 children were presented with certificate for perfect attendance for the school year 2015/2016
Rising our first Green Flag
On Friday 27th May we hoisted our first Green Flag. Congratulation to Miss Graham, the Green School Committee and indeed the entire school community who made it all possible.

National Flag Ceremony
As part of the “Ireland 2016 Centenary Programme” all primary schools will be presented with the National Flag and a copy of the 1916 Proclamation.
On Wednesday 30 September all First and Second classes gathered in the hall where three members of the Defence Forces presented the National Flag and the Proclamation to Noah Fagan and Eva Thomas. The Proclamation was read out by one of the officers, assisted by Sean McHugh. At the end of the ceremony all present song the National Anthem-Amhrán na bhFiann
Annual Sponsored Walk 2015
On Friday 25 September our annual sponsored walk took place. Over €7000 was raised. this money will help fund cultural and artistic activities during this school year.
After the walk the Activ Flag was raised.
