Aistear – Autumn Theme

The focus of our aistear theme this week is autumn.
In the first station the children in our class are making a Hedgehog Hibernation Hut for Harry the Hedgehog. We had great fun collecting leaves, twigs and other natural materials to make a warm and cosy home for Harry. Some children brought in acorns and other things from home so Harry will not be hungry in wintertime!

In our art station we are painting autumn trees using the autumn colours and cotton wool. It was very messy but we really enjoyed it!

Our construction area we’re busy building shelters and home for the farm animals before winter comes.

In our last station we were learning how to make leaf prints by doing leaf rubbings using the leaves we collected on our leaf hunt.
