Ms Henry’s Class
Sports Day
All of the Senior Infants had great fun during their sports day. We started with stations in the hall, then we spent the rest of the day outside in the sunshine. The boys and girls loved taking part in the egg and spoon race, the sack race, parachute games and our water relay races.
Bee Bots
During our last term we used Bee Bots to learn all about computer programming and to help us put our directional language into practice. We loved learning about algorithms and coding. Our Bee Bots even helped us to revise our 2D and 3D shapes, our tricky words and we could even spell out words for our friends to guess!
Our Senses Walk
In room 8 we were learning all about our senses this week. On Friday we went outside on a senses walk, we took clipboards with us and we looked very professional!
Our School Tour -Newgrange Farm
We had an action packed day out at Newgrange farm! We rode in the tractor and trailer through the fields and saw the three little bears house. We fed chickens, calves and even milked a cow. Everyone got to have a cuddle with a puppy and a little chick. We had great fun playing in the giant sandpit, the tunnels, the water area and last but not least in the hay maze. Teacher slept very well that night!
Money Money Money……
After working very hard and becoming accomplished mathematicians the children got to put their money skills into practice at our fruit shop. They were able to calculate how much they needed to buy exactly what they wrote on their shopping list.
Chalk Art
Green Fingers
We planted tomatoes, carrots and peas in room 8 and enjoyed watching them grow until it was time to bring them home.
Pancake Tuesday
We had a ‘flipping’ great time today! All are chefs in the making…..
World Book Day
This week we celebrated World Book Day by dressing up as our favourite characters from books we love. Fairy Sarah arrived into our class and shared stories and fairy magic with us all.
We are all Superstars
There were many great achievements this year in room 8, here are a small selection of them. Well done everybody!
Seachtain na Gaeilge
Mrs Nolan taught us lots of traditional Irish dances in the weeks coming up to Seachtain na Gaeilge. We had a great time dancing at the ‘ceili’ in the hall with all the other senior infant classes. Thank you Mrs. Nolan for all your hard work organising everything throughout Seachtain na Gaeilge, we had a fantastic time.
Throughout the week we made an extra effort to use the irish language and even played games through gaeilge in P.E. On Friday we dressed up in green and went our very own Saint Patricks Day parade.
Assembly
For assembly we performed ‘This is Me’ from The Greatest Showman through sign language. The boys and girls all put in a lot of effort and put on a terrific performance.
G.A.A
We loved learning how to play hurling with Sean, the future’s bright!
Mighty Mouth Dental Hygiene
