Mórshiúl sa Chlós

We had great fun on Thursday at our school parade to celebrate St. Patrick’s day. We all dressed in green, white or orange and we danced to Irish music and marched around the school.

Ceolchoirm sa Halla

We had great fun at the Ceolchoirm for Seachtain na nGaeilge which took place in our school hall on Wednesday. We were blown away with the talent from the students in our school. A special thank you to the teachers from the St. Fiachra’s Junior and Senior schools who also played and danced in the concert. There was lots of Irish singing, dancing, and music being played for the afternoon.

Dancing with the Stars Surprise Visit

There was great excitement this week in St. Fiachra’s Junior school when Karl Mullen from Dancing with the stars paid a visit to our school. He, along with his dance partner Emily met the children of 1st and 2nd class and talked us about what it’s like to be part of Dancing with the Stars tv programme. They also treated us to a dance performance.

Preperation for Seachtain na Gaeilge

For the month of March, we continued to work on the strand of ‘Dance’. Under this strand, we learned a number of folk dances under the guidance of Mrs. Nolan. Classes learned ‘Shoe the Donkey’, ‘Military Two Step’, ‘Siege of Ennis’ and ‘Staicín Eorna’ for example. Classes came together during Seachtain na Gaeilge to perform these dances in a school Ceilí. We also had a school Ceolchoirm. During this, lots.

An Ceili Mór

We have been busy working on the strand of ‘Dance’ this month. All classes have been learning dances under the guidance of Mrs. Nolan. This will culminate in a ‘Ceili Mor’ during Seachtain na Gaeilge. Another addition to our school yards are our ‘Games of the Month’. This month we are focusing on ‘Cen t-am e a Mhac Tire?’ (What time is it Mr. Wolf). We have been very lucky.
